ESP8266 - NodeMCU Flasher PROBLEM? - Calling back home??
I was dowloading this morning the NodeMCU Flasher program from https://github.com/nodemcu/nodemcu-flasher. This is the official firmware programmer for NodeMCU DEVKIT V0.9.
Has anybody any idea why is it trying to connect at startup over the internet at the address below?
Am I missing something maybe? :)

Hello, I know why it is. In earlier time NodeMCU update very fast, so the about page always changed. When this software start it will get latest help infomation from my website. but now this feature is useless, I haven't update vowstar for long time. So I'll remove this feature in next version.
